Hold Your Thoughts Captive to Christ

We can’t always control the worried thoughts that come into our minds but we can choose what we do with them. We can entertain them, let them stew and fester, or we can hold them up to God and His word and ask for His help in dealing with them.

The Bible says to hold all our thoughts obedient to Christ. This means facing your worry, bringing it into the light of Christ and then replacing it with His truth. When the enemy or your soul tells you to be terribly afraid of current events, for example, go to the Bible and see what God says about that. You will find so many ways to respond to that thought with truth, such as, “I don’t have to be afraid, for God is with me. My hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress. I will not be shaken.” Say this truth out loud or write it down to ingrain it further into your mind. Repeat it as many times as you need to let it seep deep into your soul.

Hold your thoughts captive to Christ on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:5
