Control Your Need to Fix

Sometimes we respond to our worries by trying to take matters into our own hands when it isn't appropriate to do so. Fear of poor grades, for example, might cause a parent to hover and help a little too much with their child's homework. This may temporarily help the immediate worry but the child doesn't learn independence or consequence of bad study habits and therefore there is even more to worry about in the end. Manipulating in these types of situations also may be interfering with God's will and timing. Problem-solving can be okay and even good, but not if it is motivated primarily by worry. Control your need to fix on this "Not Gonna Worry" Wednesday.
