Discuss Your Worries

Worries gain power the longer we harbor and entertain them in our mind and souls. Find someone you can trust who will be gentle and understanding yet honest with you. Ask if you can share your worried thoughts and get their advice about them. Exposure of worry in itself is very beneficial because it reveals how irrational many of our thoughts really are. Ask your confidant to help you discern between what is a healthy concern and what is a needless worry. Decide if there are any action steps you can take to subside the concern or get rid of the worry. Finally, pray for God to give you direction in how to move forward in His peace. It would be wonderful if your friend could also pray with you. Discuss your worries and they will lose power on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.
