Practice Prayer, Petition and Thanksgiving

The Bible tells us to present our worries to God by prayer, petition and with thanksgiving. Praying is simply communicating with God in a general way. This could be anything from praise, appreciation to confession. A petition is making a specific request to God while acknowledging that He is the one in control. Finally, the Bible tells us to wrap it all up with thanksgiving. This is a powerful three-fold combination. An example of praying this way over a common worry would be; “Heavenly Father, You are loving, powerful and good. I ask you to give me peace as I wait for my test results. Please give me reassurance that You are with me and I will be okay no matter what. Thank You that you have a plan for me that is perfect. Amen.” Practice prayer, petition and thanksgiving on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.
