Start With God

What is the first thing you do when you are overwhelmed, stressed or worried? Do you eat? Pour a glass of wine? Or find something to distract you like the internet or TV? Or do you call a friend, a therapist or your spouse? None of these first responses are necessarily bad, but there’s a much better one, and that is to start with God. 

God wants you to come to Him first. Talk to Him about your stress and worry. Ask Him for wisdom on what you can do and/or how to fully give the worry over to Him. Read scripture on worry and what God says about it. You may be surprised after a few minutes with God, and the Holy Spirit as your Counselor, that the stress and worry subsides without you having to do much more about it. 

Start with God when you are worried on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I Peter 5:7
