Try Something New

It’s hard to break old patterns of worrying, especially when you are stuck in the same old routine. Surprising yourself with a new healthy thrill or new way of doing things can be the perfect distraction to worry. 

Shake things up by searching for new hobbies, interests or activities. Maybe you will find reading, photography, gardening, or learning a new language just what you need to spice things up in your thought life. Even small changes to routines you already have in place can make a big difference. For example, if you normally walk as your regular exercise routine try biking or doing an online fitness class instead. 

Ask God, to help you keep an eye out for new adventures, big and small. The positive stimulation to the mind of offering it something new to think and get excited about will keep it too busy to worry. Try something new on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.
