Worries are based on future fears and many times relate to the suffering we imagine we will experience. As with any worrying, this serves no useful purpose. It only leads us to further doom and hopelessness. What is ironic, is that often our perceived anxiety is far worse than the actual degree of suffering. We are much more capable than we realize to learn from, endure and become better and stronger as a result of our painful events.
Be aware of your fears of suffering and address them. Take them to God and ask for the Holy Spirit to speak truth about these fears to you. Look up Gods promises to comfort and help you through tough times. Most importantly, remember you can have solidarity with Jesus. He walks through life with us, encouraging, teaching and strengthening us every step of the way.
Don’t be afraid of suffering on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
