Take Care of Your Mind

Worry cannot thrive and grow unless it has a conducive environment to do so. Are you taking care of your mind? Proper sleep, nutrition, exercise, etc are all vital for good brain health. Are there habits you can develop or change to improve your psychological life? Maybe adding a walk into your daily routine or something as simple as adding vitamin D to your diet could get those endorphins pumping and mood stabilized. Deep-breathing exercises can also greatly reduce stress and anxiety.

Be sure to also address your thinking. If you want to keep worry away, it is critical to learn how to fill your mind with positive uplifting thoughts. A great way to do this is with scripture. Memorize a bible verse that will encourage you throughout your day. Another key to joy and contentment is to practice having a grateful attitude. You could do this, for example, by noting and listing three things you are thankful for each day.

Take care of your mind on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.  Ephesians 4:22-24
