Be Vulnerable

Being vulnerable may sound like the last thing you should do to combat worry, but it is vital towards acquiring genuine love and peace. When restrained, we tend to focus on our fears and worries. On the contrary, when we let down our guard, we are open to being hurt more, true, but also now available to discover new joy, love, peace, etc. that we wouldn’t have otherwise. These are all assets that cannot coincide with worry.

Being vulnerable is more than just being open. It is admitting you do not have control and are dependent on others and ultimately God to care for you. The benefits far outweigh the risks when it comes to vulnerability. Even if we experience hurt and disappointment, we are then able to learn and develop coping skills and resilience, key ingredients for a happier life.

Be vulnerable on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  2 Corinthians 12:9-10
