The Bible tells us we are made up of a body, soul, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23). God’s Word also shows us that the body and soul (where worry resides) is constantly at war with our spirit, (where God’s peace resides).
The soul houses our mind, will, and emotions and therefore has the power to decide at all times which part of us reigns. Do we give in to our fleshly desires or out-of-control emotions? Or do we think according to what the Holy Spirit says about us? In order to let go of worry, we need to cooperate with God in the renewal of our minds by focusing on and listening to the spirit deep inside of us. We can do this by reading God’s word, praying to Him often, and thinking about His goodness, blessing, and presence in our life.
Be spiritually minded on this “Not Gonna Worry” Wednesday.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
